Leading Motor Industry Event Raises £22,000 For Help For Heroes Charity

Leeds, UK, November 11 2016: Attendees at the 6th Annual F&I Conference and Awards have raised upwards of £22,000 for Help for Heroes Charity.

The F&I Conference and Awards, held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Thursday 3rd November, is a not for profit event for motor dealers, finance brokers, and finance & insurance specialists from the automotive sector.

This year’s event was attended by over 350 F&I delegates whose generosity raised funds for the charity which helps servicemen and women suffering life changing injuries and/or illnesses whilst serving in the British Armed Forces.

The sum was raised through various fundraising activities at the prestigious Awards in the evening which celebrates achievement across the F&I sector.

For the second year, the Award ceremony was compered by BBC Breakfast’s Louise Minchin, whilst after dinner speaker Matt Dawson MBE entertained the audience with tales from Question of Sport, MasterChef as well as England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup win.

The evening’s most poignant moment was delivered by Don Maclean who talked about his life-changing experience as a Royal Marine and how Help For Heroes had assisted him after an improvised explosive device shattered his right heel and caused multiple fractures to the bones in his right foot.

Vicki Brand from Help For Heroes, said: “Help for Heroes is extremely grateful to the F&I Conference and Awards for their incredible support at their 2016 event.  Thanks to the money raised we can continue to provide comprehensive tailored support, from psychological well being and sports recovery to financial grants and career support.

“Thousands of Heroes and their loved ones are dealing every day with increasingly complicated physical and psychological conditions. They will continue to need our support as they rebuild their lives, and the support from the F&I Conference and Awards will help us fulfil our promise of support for life.”

On the F&I Conference, he said: “Once again the F&I Conference has taken a step forward in terms of the speakers.
